Elise, you are the best (seriously)

On the 15th, my friend and housemate Elise ran the Tromsø Ski Marathon
(this is a lake just behind my house, and a random man in the middle of the photo)

And this is her being amazing

After doing about 20 out of 26 miles

She still manages to look as cheery as this.

That's all. All my admiration and respect.

Being healthy and all that

At Åsfjellet, looking towards Tromsø island

It's September and officially autumn, and everything is very beautiful (when the sun is out)

Including Christine, here on her way down

Today started with me being very lazy, sitting outside in the sunshine, finishing Good Omens and replying to Ingrid's letter. I would still be lazy if it wasn't for Christine inviting me to climb a mountain with her. It was really good, mostly because it was more of a hill, the weather was nice, and we had chocolate. The past month I've been far too relaxed about exercise, since my gym is now a 30 minute drive away, and everything is too far to cycle, and all these excuses are very convenient. I will try to change gears now, especially since we've got lovely autumn weather, which calls for climbing all the mountains and walking all the paths.

Also, I've now got a phone with a slightly less rubbish camera than before, which means that I'm too lazy to bring my proper camera, and you will get slightly more rubbish photos than before.

Back home

March 2012

I spent yesterday and today unpacking, and I can't believe how many things I own. And so much random stuff too, which I can't throw away because of reasons (mostly nostalgia).

And now I'm going on a two hour drive to see my lovely niece and give her a book and maybe get some exercise (which has been down on my priority list during this moving period) by running around the house with her, and stay there a few days.

I promise you, regular blog posts will be back soon!

Hello there, Venus

People trying to see the black spot on the fun looked amazingly funny, also, this was about 01 am last night.

We probably looked like this ourselves, but who cares, we saw Venus (or a black spot) crossing the sun

Sun with normal camera, tried stopping it down (this is a lot darker than reality),
but ofc I have no amazing equipment or tin foil, so no Venus for you

Why are all these people on a sports field in the middle of the night?

See this video and article by the Guardian, so I don't have to explain anything. Anyway, we're lucky in the North, because the transit started around midnight, and where else can you actually see the sun at midnight in June? (Canada is also part of the North).

I very cleverly agreed to come to this event after a day of cycling and exercise and stayed up until two am, while having to get up at eight this morning to go to the Red Cross house and photograph people for their website. Oh, and I also have a cold. Clever girl. Now my bed calls me softly, and before that I think I hear some tea and chocolate calling from the kitchen as well.
